UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO LEGOLAND WINDSOR
Vikings' River Splash
Opened Saturday 18 August 2007 after some apparent construction delays. Some normal park opening days in September 2007 have seen the ride shut down for maintenance. Currently only a maximum of 6 riders can travel in each boat. The boats were originally designed to carry 9 people.

Vikings' River Splash at Legoland Windsor is a river rapids ride. Approach to the ride is currently from the bottom of the park, near the Spinning Spider. When you enter the enclosed queuing area there is currently a sign stating a 1 hour wait time from that point. In reality though it's more like 35 minutes from there.
The loading area is a slowly-spinning round platform where you climb aboard a circular boat seating up to 9 (although currenly only a maximum of 6 people are allowed). The ride then takes you through a series of twists and turns, some fast some slow. There are parts of the ride that have water squirting from fixed units. Soon after the start of the ride you pass the water cannon area where other park visitors can get you wet by aiming at you.
Along the way you pass a series of Lego models. Since the ride is very new at the moment it still has an air of unfinishedness about it; lots of bare concrete around and the landscaping around the ride looks bare in places.
Most people would agree, however, that this is Legoland's best family ride. So make sure you fit it into your day.
See New Stuff for 2007 for details, photos and a video of the construction of this ride.
